<p><a href="https://www.joomlapolis.com/addons/cb-paid-subscriptions" rel="alternate">CB Paid Subscriptions (CBSubs GPL) 4.5.2</a> is a <strong>compatibility, features</strong> and <strong>improvements</strong> release. CBSubs 4.5.2 improves <strong>promotions</strong> and <strong>mailers</strong> with new conditions based on latest/current order. For example, <strong>Discounts, markups</strong> and mailers can now be based on the total amount, currency or payment gateway method used.</p>
<p>CBSubs 4.5.2 also <strong>addresses an API bug of Paypal.com</strong> affecting the "Thank you" page when returning to site after payment, in the cases where the direct IPN notification comes after the redirect. <strong>CBSubs 4.5.2 is a highly recommended upgrade</strong> for sites using Paypal (standard).</p>
<p>CBSubs 4.5.2 also brings full compatibility with <strong>Joomla 4.0</strong>, <strong>PHP 8.0</strong> and <strong>MySQL 8.0</strong>, in addition of Joomla 3.x and PHP 7.x/5.6.</p>
<p>The main new features in this release are:</p>

Paypal engineers have been notified of the API bug, but have not yet addressed the bug nor replied with a timeline, This is why CBSubs 4.5.2 implements a workaround for this bug and is a <strong>highly recommended priority upgrade for sites using Paypal</strong> (Paypal standard).</li>

<li>New admin sub-menus for taxes, promotions and mailers.</li>
<li>Compatibility with <strong>Joomla 4.0 RC1</strong> and <strong>3.10 alpha 6</strong>.</li>

<p>We have already started modernizing our code-base for CB 3.0 as you will see in next CB 2.7 release. This modernization effort will use new features that PHP 7.0-7.4 supports. This means that the obsolete PHP 5.6 to 7.3 versions will no longer be supported starting with the next CB 2.7 stable release. The CB 2.7 upgrade/install process will be checking the PHP version as a prerequisite for completion. Similar checking will apply to over 5 years old MySQL versions prior to MySQL 5.7.8 (bringing highly useful JSON columns support) and to Joomla versions prior to Joomla 3.9.0. To avoid any surprises, we have added PHP, MySQL and Joomla obsolete version warnings to CB 2.6.</p>]]></description>

<p>The <strong>seventh beta</strong> of the <strong>Joomla 4.0</strong> just got released, along with the fifth alpha of Joomla 3.10.</p>
<p>Joomla 4.0 beta 7 is expected to be the last beta before the Joomla 4 Release Candidate that is scheduled for March.</p>
<p>We are excited by Joomla 4's progress and are looking forward to the Release Candidate phase. Community Builder adaptations for Joomla 4 have already been incorporated in <a href="https://www.joomlapolis.com/news/18917-community-builder-2-5-joomla-4-b6-compatible-release">Community Builder 2.5</a>.</p>
<p>You can take Joomla 4 beta 7 for a spin using the <a href="https://launch.joomla.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">launch.joomla.org</a> site or you can just download and install on your local or hosting environment. Make sure you help the development process by submitting any issues you identify on the <a href="https://issues.joomla.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Joomla tracker site</a>. You can also install CB 2.5 on your Joomla 4 b7 test site and give any feedback or findings on our forums.</p>
<p>Joomla 3.10 alpha 5 is an iteration to get Joomla 3.10 ready same time as Joomla 4.0. It supports both Joomla 3 and Joomla 4 extensions and will allow a smooth upgrade between Joomla 3.9 and 4.0.
